Every month the Library hosts an adult book club. We take input from the group and select books that match our readers. Feel free to join the discussion, or just stop in and enjoy the conversation.

This was a 4 star read. This starts right off with a life altering event for our main characters. As the police interview each of person of interest you are hooked. Who will it be? Who would want to commit this crime? What will be gained? Will you figure it out before the end? Definitely a page turner
Book Club rated this a 4.5 star read. This historical fiction read takes you back to a time when traveling wasn’t as easy as jumping in the car and hitting the interstate. Steamboats were a smoother mode of transportation but came with its own set of dangers. The passengers who survived struggled hard to do so
Book Club rated this 3 star read. The book has moments where you will laugh out loud. You definitely get a feel of what Christmas should be about. Book Club recommends read the book then watch Christmas with the Kranks and decide which was better.
Book Club rated this a 4.5 read. This book pulls you in from the start and you are guessing who done it shortly after. The twists and turns keep this a lively read. The ending is not at all what you would be expecting.
Book Club rated this 4 star read. Two women in different era’s both married men who were controlling. As you read you see the women hold their own and hold onto the life that they want to live. The key is the cookbook and the notes had written in the margins of that book.
Book Club rated this a 4 star read. The comparison to Agatha Christie’s and Then There Were None is immediately apparent. The twists and turns in this suspenseful novel kept the pages turning in this month’s read.
Book Club rated this a 4.5 star read. This one was a real page turner for sure. This novel was a whirlwind of twists and turns you don’t see coming. The main characters were captivating and the ending just leaves you stunned.
Book Club rated this a 4 star read. This book had plenty of twists and turns. The author wove the backstories of each character into each other over and over again making the plot more exciting the further you read. The ending was a complete surprise.
Book Club rated this a 4 star read. The story set in Ann Arbor and surrounding area of Baxter, Michigan gave it a hometown feel. You could picture yourself hanging out with the main characters having a cup of coffee discussing the local goings on. There were definitely some twists you didn’t see coming but overall a good mystery to settle in with.
Book Club rated this a 5 star read. Members were surprised by how the book just pulled you in. The relationships between characters develop and change through the years as they move from college students to thirty-somethings. You are brought along this adventure and hope that all the characters have a happy ending. Definitely captivating and well written—a great holiday read.
Book Club rated this a 4 star read. Everyone loved this feel good read that gave us just a dash of magic. The characters are quite charming in the quaint little town where wishes can be granted and secrets are abound. The story makes you want to go apple picking and bake pies with your friends and family.
Book Club rated this a 2 star read. While everyone loved learning about Paris and the characters, the overall plot of the book made us wanting more. We can’t say a lot, but the ending was not what you expect.
Book club rated this a 4 star read. This book was a laugh out loud comedy. The main character is trying to adjust from full time job to a stay at home, first-time mom. We can all commiserate with the sleep deprivation, cold dinners, and never ending supply of dirty diapers.
Book club discussion rated this a 2 star read. This book was loaded with historical facts related to the early stages of the fledgling space program. The reader gets a good impression of a time when women generally didn’t spend a lot of time on scholarly pursuits. Unfortunately the book was very dry and overall not interesting or entertaining enough to keep the group’s interest.
Book club discussion resulted in a 4 star read. This book engaged readers from the start. Historical fiction is a favorite with the book group. This particular book set in the depression era gave a good insight to some of tough choices families had to make in order to survive.
Book club rated this a 4 star read. This book was very suspenseful. As the tale progresses the lies start unraveling and truths start to come out. As we watched the movie you really got a much clearer picture of the deceit and how fast the truth comes out. If you are looking for a good psychological thriller this is a must read.
Book club rated this a 4 star read. Hooks you in right from the beginning. This story we follow three friends from college to adulthood. The secrets that come out about choices made in college, how it affected them as adults and tragedies that befall each of them. It definitely kept you turning pages.
